John is the author of The Why Cafe, and Big Five for Life series of books, as well as the creator of the Big Five for Life concept.
When he was 32 years old, he and his wife took off on a great big adventure. They quit their jobs, sold almost everything, and backpacked around the world for a year on just $40 per day. Everyone thought they were crazy.
It turned out they weren’t.
That year changed his life in more ways than he could have ever imagined. He no longer felt like time was passing him by. He felt like he was truly living. Riding elephants in Thailand, climbing the Great Wall in China, wandering the plains of Africa….
It was the stuff he had always dreamed of, only it wasn’t a dream anymore. He was doing it.
When he returned, he was inspired to write a little book called, The Why Cafe. It became a #1 Bestseller on three different continents, and has been translated into more than 28 languages. He went on to write other books, including Return to The Why Cafe, The Big Five for Life, Life Safari, The Big Five for Life Continued, and Ahas! – Moments of Inspired Thought.
As the books became popular, readers began asking John if had a course in spirit with his books. Something that would help them figure out what they most want to do with their life.
So he created the Big Five for Life Discovery Course. The idea was simple. Help people figure out the five things they most want to do, see, or experience in life. In other words, help people get clear about why they are here and what they want to do.
The course was a great success. People from around the world were attending and having massive epiphanies. They were getting clear. They were getting inspired about their life.
The only problem was, not everyone could go to where the courses were being taught.
So John and a friend decided to take it digital. They created an online version of the same course John was teaching live. This way, people could experience it anytime, anywhere in the world.
These days, John continues to travel the world. Only now it’s with his whole family. He also continues to write, teach, and most often, learn.
